Welcome to the Tithe Barn Garden School. A family run business offering courses and workshops inspired by our love of nature, practical gardening and design.
We work with a host of experienced tutors offering courses for all levels of expertise covering horticulture, floristry, arts and craft. Our workshops are run from a Georgian coach house that sits beside the Tithe Barn's formal walled rose garden. We aim to encourage creativity and an appreciation for all things natural. We look forward to hosting you at one of our classes soon.
The Tithe Barn walled garden was designed in 2007 with a vision of creating a classical landscape to complement our brick and flint home which dates back to 1760. The result is a formal framework of low box hedges, straight paths and parterres filled with roses and perennials. Wherever possible only reclaimed materials were used to lend authenticity to the finished design. The paths are edged in Victorian pavers, the terrace is built from reclaimed York stone, and flower-filled vintage clay pots dress the spaces. Since its completion, our award-winning garden has been opened annually for the National Garden Scheme charity and to gardening clubs from home and abroad.
